"In the final moment when everything was already in motion; Jessica arrived like a cosmic intervention. She held the most expressive, dramatic, passionate performers with the steadiness of a queen. She stepped into the role of director with instant authority, shaping immersive theater with clarity, humor, and pure artistic instinct. She coordinated the video mapping, drone music, and emotional beats so the story breathed as one organism. She even wrote crucial moments of the performance, the lines that made the audience gasp, laugh, and follow the thread. Jessica built an entire artistic universe in record time and crowned it by singing opera as Vlad's dead wife, with a voice that vibrated through stone, air, and bone."— Diana Velica, Protocols Organization
"This year I had the absolute honour of witnessing Jessica in her craft, as well as participating in one of her creations. — It. Was. Fire.— (Literally, there were Fire-Goddesses on stage). Jessica's ability to envision, to lead, and to execute is an art form in itself. The woman is living Art-Incarnate. Jessica is the embodiment of story telling through facets of artistry that are so wildly moving, multi-layered, and consciously composed, that the audience becomes engulfed into the alchemy of expression she is provoking, and all are transported through her."— Taryne Nicole on Bisou, Le Grand
"We recently attended a performance of Gold Can't Love You Back at The Stone House. I am stunned at what an excellent show it was. I was floored to read that the cast and producers are all local. What an extraordinary show of talent. It was a brilliant production, well presented, with good food available at The Stone House. I urge anyone who is interested to not miss one of the upcoming performances, before it wraps up its run."— Peter Brewer, Nevada City
"Wow! I am so very impressed with your production. From the great humorous storytelling to the fantastic dancers and actors to the music; it was one of my favorite performances I have attended in Nevada County, and that is saying A LOT! My 17 year old daughter loved it, as well. I am begging you to add more shows so I can see it again and bring more people. Truly impressive, and I will be attending EVERYTHING that House of Fates does in the future."— Valerie Costa, Special Publications Editor, The Union
"House of Fates, the newest theatre troupe in Nevada County, exploded onto the scene on November 10 with their inaugural performance of Persephone's Tale at the historic Nevada Theatre. Funny, sexy, witty, creative and just plain fun, this original play was a retelling of the Greek myth of Persephone's journey to the underworld. Combining dance, original music expertly performed by Siren & Seer, and a creative multimedia backdrop, each performer shined in their role. The opening dance sequence by Hecate set an ambitious tone for the rest of the performance. Sky W. Seals played the randy and misogynistic Zeus to cocky brilliance, and Judy Merrick's portrayal of the willingly seduced Demeter was pure perfection. Cosmo Merryweather's take on Lucifer was hilarious and nuanced, while Jessica Brugnon embodied the spirit of teen Persephone, chafing under her mother Demeter's overprotective rules. The narcissistic Aphrodite and her son Eros were hilariously portrayed by Sheila Broggle and Cedar Rushin. If you missed this once only performance, you truly missed out. Be on the lookout for House of Fates's next performance."— Valerie Costa, Special Publications Editor, The Union
"I saw this performance last night. It was so good on many levels. The storytelling through dance was engaging, graceful, sexy, dark and emotionally packed. This month, there are a lot of pride flags around town. #Anima gave me a different, much grittier insight into some of the struggle someone can go through. The performance dove into sexual addiction, conquering inner demons, and accepting both the light and the dark. Bodhi-Hive and House of Fates have created a beautiful space for our community to gather, have fun, and experience the next wave of local culture. Catch the show. There are still a few more chances."— Robert X Trent
